I also think for a lot of customers the security aspects are huge in NFSv4. The companies Ive worked with and for over the past couple of years have had issues with NFSv3 security - security teams have big hammers in many organisations these days.
On the other hand, not many of them (may just be the companies Ive worked with) have been screaming for pNFS.
I think pNFS is probs the coolest feature, but not necessarily the most required.
Just my penny's worth.

I don't disagree on the security aspect and everything that brings NFSv4 into play moves pNFS one step closer to deployment.
There's no lose here. Unless you have a crufty network. ;-)
